Gendered Perspectives on Security:
A Critical Discussion of Switzerland’s Security Policy Report 2021

It is our pleasure to invite you to the next event, jointly organised by foraus Peace & Security and Women in International Security (WIIS) Switzerland "Gendered Perspectives on Security: A Critical Discussion of Switzerland’s Security Policy Report 2021”, taking place online on Tuesday, 14 September 2021, 12.30 - 1.30 PM.

This virtual event will host three distinguished speakers:

Pälvi Pulli, Head of Security Policy, Department for Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS)
Renata Hessmann Dalaqua, Programme Lead Gender and Disarmament, United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR)
Violeta Zairi, Legal Advisor, Swiss Armed Forces International Command (SWISSINT)
Moderated by:
Julia-Silvana Hofstetter, Co-Head of foraus Peace & Security and President WIIS Switzerland
This event critically reflects on Switzerland’s current Security Policy Report and discusses some of its key elements applying a gendered perspective. The document outlines strategic challenges and trends in foreign, security and defence policy, issues in and around Switzerland - and how Switzerland intends to tackle them. We will discuss key findings of this year's Security Policy Report and have a closer look at two particular aspects: cybersecurity, and the inclusion of women in international peacekeeping.
